Junsei Uemura, 11th-generation head of Yamajou Kamaboko
It has now been seven years since we launched this corporate website to share our passion and dedication to the art of kamaboko-making.
We are grateful to have been featured by television and radio, and to have received support from many people on social media.
Thank you all for your continued encouragement.
The Benefits and Joy of Eating Fish
Fish is a highly nutritious and well-balanced source of food.
However, some people avoid it due to concerns about bones or its distinct aroma.
Kamaboko and other fish paste products make it easier to enjoy the benefits of fish without those drawbacks.
Since ancient times, the Japanese have thrived in harmony with the sea, developing a rich culinary culture centered around seafood.
This has supported our health and formed a cornerstone of our national identity.
We have always appreciated both the value of eating fish and the joy it brings.
Moving Forward with the People of Odawara
The COVID-19 pandemic dealt a heavy economic blow to Odawara, a city once bustling with tourism.
The formerly lively Odawara Station, frequented by international visitors, now shows little trace of that activity.
To overcome this crisis, it is essential for the people of Odawara to unite and continue prioritizing infection prevention.
At Yamajou Kamaboko, we are a team of dedicated artisans.
As a company rooted in a city known for its kamaboko, we strive to refine our skills and craft delicious fish paste products.
We believe that doing so allows us to contribute meaningfully to the local community and preserve Odawara's culinary heritage.
